Thanks everyone

I'm just taking a quick minute to thank everyone for all their good wishes. I would also like to thank everyone who helped throw and all who showed up to the baby shower- I appreciate it a lot and wish I could have visited with everyone (I really had been looking forward to it). Also thanks for the help this week as we have adjusted to this cute little addition :)
Also for those who don't know you can check out the hospital photos of Gregor at St. Marks website- web babies and July 12th. We'll try to keep you updated with all the cutest new pics in the future :)

Early Arrival

Well...

Gregor has decided that he needed to make an early entry into our lives. Laura has been doing "non-stress testing" due to her high blood pressure. The little guy has been having some "heart decelerations" during these tests so the hospital ran a "contraction stress test". After that test looked fairly normal they kept Laura overnight for monitoring. During the night Gregor had several more decelerations, so the doctor feared that there may be a problem with either the cord or placenta. Because of this fear the doctor scheduled a C-Section for this morning. Gregor was born at 9:43 AM and is doing very well! He is absolutly adorable and I will be posting many pictures in the coming days. He was 5 lbs and 10 ounces. 18 and 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are doing wonderfully. They will be in the hospital until at least Tuesday, so feel free to come and see our little miracle.

I love you all, and wish to thank everyone for the support and help that has been offered and given.

A little more news

So I'm not working and it is pretty boring, I am getting a lot of books read though. On the first I had another ultrasound done, I was measuring a little large and the doctor wanted to have the size of the baby checked. They estimate him as of that day as being about 5 lbs. 10 oz. so if I go full term he should be in the 8 lbs. range (not really a surprise, I was expecting a baby that big). They did manage to take a cute little picture of his profile this time as you can see here:

Take a good look at that cute little profile- they also told me his head is in the 90th percentile so that cute little head is HUGE :) He is of course still breech and loves to press that cute little head against my ribcage any chance he gets (as he is doing right now).

The baby shower is on Saturday and I am very excited to get out of the house, I don't really get to do that much anymore (oh sure there was a bit for the holiday but I get cabin fever so easily this staying home and resting is killing me).

My appointments are going well and the tests are usually okay, my cute little baby likes to have heart decelerations that make me have tons of extra testing that all turn out okay. I keep telling him he isn't supposed to play with his cord but does he listen to me?

I'm feeling monsterously huge as you can see from my latest picture I am:

the most surprising thing right now is I haven't been any more effected by the heat than I normally am, I was expecting differently after all the sympathy I received whenever sharing my due date.

Anyway things are mostly great, it was great to see Janet for the holiday and speak to people who can answer back (most of my talking is concentrated on my stomach these days). I may have to do something I never do and invite people over- oh the humanity :)

Some news

So what is going on lately? We have finally decided on a name for our little wigglemonster, Gregor Todd Stewart. Although I do think it will be near impossible for me to call him by his name- I think in not too many years he will be begging me not to call him wiggle in front of his friends :)

Because I have had blood pressure problems throughout this pregnancy the doctors have asked me to work part-time & do extra testing, they check his amniotic fluid, heartbeat & my bloodpressure. It has been going very well, and it is really fun to see my baby on a regular basis :) Last week he was playing with his toes- it was quite adorable - this picture shows how bent in half he was to do it:

He also had his first bout of hiccups this weekend & a couple of times since. It is actually a bit fun for me but you can't help but feel bad for him- I hate when I get the hiccups.

We have almost finished all our classes, tomorrow is the last of the childcare class, we should learn child safety and baby cpr (I hope they don't put the cpr dummy on the floor- I'm not sure I could get back up again).

In baby other than mine news, my nephew Xander is doing well- he has had a cold but he is doing lots and lots better as you can see:

isn't he cute? I'm hoping he continues to do well and they can take him home soon.

Hope everyone is great, talk to you soon.

Scottish Festival and Highland Games

This weekend was the annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games at Thanksgiving Point. It was also the first time that I have worn the Kilt that I had made when we went to Scotland last September. All in all it is a pretty comfortable garment, just don't ask what I had on underneath it...

Nothing gets the blood pumping quite like live Pipes and Drums. Hopefully our little growing baby has now developed a taste for the pipes, because he will be hearing a lot of it in our home.

It was a good festival this year. Anyone that did not attend missed out. There were more live bands than usual, and more scottish food choices than in the past. Mmmm...Scotch eggs!
